 Speaking & Facilitation
Where Strategy Meets Story. Where Empathy Drives Impact.

Nasra Wehelie

Strategic Speaker | Governance Leader | Equity Systems Strategist

Empathy 4 Impact® delivers high-impact keynotes and executive facilitation designed to move audiences beyond inspiration and into alignment. Nasra Wehelie is not simply a speaker; she is a systems thinker, public leader, and governance strategist who brings lived experience and institutional authority to every stage she steps onto.

As the first Muslim, Somali woman elected to the Madison Common Council, Nasra broke barriers in public governance while serving in spaces where leadership has historically excluded women like her. Her service on the Madison Common Council and across numerous nonprofit and civic boards in Dane County gives her rare insight into how policy, power, governance, and community trust intersect in real time.

Nasra does not speak from theory.

  • She speaks from lived leadership.

  • She speaks with authority because she has governed.

  • She speaks with credibility because she has led.

  • She speaks with depth because she has lived the complexity.

Her intersectional identity as a Black, Muslim, Somali immigrant woman is not a footnote to her story; it is the lens through which she understands power, belonging, institutional access, and resilience. She has navigated systems that were not designed with her in mind, and she brings that experience into boardrooms, executive forums, and national stages with clarity, discipline, and conviction.

Her voice bridges:

  • Community and institution

  • Empathy and accountability

  • Governance and culture

  • Equity and performance

Our Facilitation Strategy

Our facilitation approach is structured, disciplined, and outcome-driven. We design spaces where difficult conversations can happen with clarity and accountability. Each engagement is guided by three core strategies:
